Hermes

A private, single-user personal assistant integration.

What this application is

Hermes is a self-hosted personal assistant application operated by, and for, a single individual user. It is not a commercial product, it is not distributed to the public, and it has no users other than its owner.

The owner uses Hermes to keep their own day organised: filing their own email into folders, reading and creating entries on their own calendar, and producing a daily summary of their own schedule and correspondence.

How it uses Google data

With the owner's explicit authorisation, Hermes accesses only the owner's own Google account:

• Gmail — to read, label, and organise the owner's own mail, and to send mail on the owner's behalf when instructed.
• Google Calendar — to read the owner's events and to create entries the owner asks for.

Google user data is accessed solely to perform these tasks for the account owner. It is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or profiling.

How it is hosted

Hermes runs on hardware owned and controlled by its user. All authentication tokens and any cached data are stored locally on that hardware.
